Near Match Resolution
Records that are identified as Near Matches are not immediately placed in the vault. Instead they are sectioned off and made available to the LEA/Institution to view and resolve.
Objectives
After completing this section, you will be able to:
- Assign and un-assign Near Match records
- Resolve a Near Match record
- Generate a report that lists all the Near Matches that have been resolved for an LEA/Institution
View Near Match Resolutions
- Click the Near Match Resolution tab.
- A list of Near Matches will display for your LEA/Institution. By default, the system will display the records with the status Open, which means that all files for your LEA/Institution that have not been resolved will display. Use the filters to change the number of results per page, or sort the records by status - like "Owner" - to quickly see those that are Open (have not been assigned to an account yet) or In Progress.
Tech Tip - Filters
Results Per Page Filter
Please use caution when choosing to show "All" with more than 250 records. It may slow the system's response time significantly.

Status Filter

The status of each Near Match Record will display as one of the following:
Open
![]() |
The Near Match Record has not been assigned to a staff member |
In Progress
![]() |
The Near Match Record has been assigned to a staff member but has not yet been resolved |
Resolved
![]() |
The Near Match Record has been fully resolved |
