General Information and Logging In

The FLEID System user interface is where the user goes to check the success of input files which their District/Institution loaded through the TIBCO file upload/download process. This is also where you will view and resolve Near Matches. Before going into the details, let's take a look at how to access the system and some browser tips for the best user experience.

Objective

After completing this section, you will be able to:

  • Log into the FLEID System using either a Federated User Account or an SSO Hosted User Account

General User Interface Directions

Required Browsers

The FLEID System works best in the following browsers versions:

Please contact the FLDOE for guidance if using a browser other than those indicated above.

Tech Tip

IE "Browser Mode" should not be in "Compatibility View" for the browser version being used. In the event the FLEID screens do not display as depicted, complete the following steps:

View Steps - Take Internet Explorer out of Compatibility View

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Press the F12 key to open the Developer Tools menu.
  3. Click on the Browser Mode (IE 10 or below).
  4. Make sure the browser version without "Compatibility View" is selected (IE 10 or below).
  5. Click the 'x' in the upper right to exit the Developer Tools menu.

Sorting

Selected screens of the FLEID user interface may be sorted by clicking on any of the column headers. Clicking once will sort by the column in ascending order. Clicking again, on the same column header, will sort the list by that column header in descending order.

Sorting options will not be saved from session to session. Once you log out or leave a session, the next time you log in the system default sorts will display.

Timing Out

The FLEID System will time out upon prolonged inactivity. If the system times out, you might have to log back in to restart your session.

Logging in Using Single Sign On (SSO)

  1. Navigate to the FLDOE SSO login page.
  2. Select the Educators link.
  3. Use the drop down box to select your organization, and click Continue to Sign In.

    Tech Tip

Most K-12 users have Federated access and will select their district. K-12 Districts with Hosted access and all higher education organizations will select SSO Hosted Users.

  4. K-12 Districts with Federated access will enter the username and password used to sign into the network. Hosted users will type the username and computer-generated password provided to them. Click Sign In.
  5. The secure FLDOE SSO page is displayed with your name and authorized resources. Select the Florida Education ID link to open the FLEID Home page.
  6. The home page shows your username and District/Institution in the upper left corner, and an aged accounting of the current number (if any) of Near Matches requiring resolution.

Resources

If you are looking for more resources for logging into the FLDOE Single Sign On site, you can find them here on the FLDOE Tutorials page. Most resources include a Shockwave Flash (SWF) tutorial, a printable document format (PDF), and an accessible text version in rich text format (RTF). Below are a few direct links to the tutorials included:

From here, we will move into the File Management section of the system.
